Projects

Sublime Text Gist Plugin

The Ladies are in the process of writing a Sublime Text plugin to upload Gists to Github and share them on this site.

Once we’re finished, our members will be able to upload tricky snippets of code so that we can help each other remotely.

kycc-wic.com

The Ladies designed and developed a new website for the coolest conference in the area: The Grace Hopper Women in Computing Celebration.

The conference is April 10-11th, 2015 on BCTC’s Newtown Campus. Hope to see you there!

kristenandtoddgetmarried.com

The Ladies designed a wedding website for our member Kristen. The site gave guests all the details they needed to make the weekend as effortless and memorable as possible. We told the couple’s story through a comic strip created by Kristen and Rebecca. The site gave information on the registry, location, and Lexington landmarks for folks from out of town. Sarah created a webscraper to get the latest data from the registry to view the funding progress of each gift.

Organization Website

Our current project is the website for this organization, LexLadiesCode!

We’re using jekyll to create the site, Twitter Bootstrap for style, and hosting the site on GitHub Pages.

LexPlayPacman

LexPlayPacman was our first project, designed to complement one of Adult Services Librarian Eli Warner’s programs for the Lexington Public Library. LexPlayPacman is a Ruby on Rails web application that acts as a score leaderboard for a Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man tournament. Games were played on arcade machines around Lexington.

The tournament spanned the month of April 2014, and over 80 scores were recorded. Both the library and the project received a lot of great publicity. It was a great team effort for our first project!
